Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Matthew Moreni, Montana Tech
Moreni, a freshman from Helena, Mont., was chosen as the Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
He made his collegiate outdoor track debut at the Yellowjackets Open, hosted by MSU-Billings. Moreni established a school and personal record in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 21.24 seconds to finish fifth in the race for the Orediggers. He was the highest placed NAIA runner in the race.
Moreni also anchored the winning 4 x 100-meter relay team with a time of 41.78 for Montana Tech. He clocked a time of 54.97 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles for a second-place finish at the Al Manuel Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division I Montana.
